Several stars on the mound — both fresh-faced and well-traveled — lit it up last season, including a rookie in Pittsburgh.

American League Cy Young 2025

What to know: Detroit's Tarik Skubal was last season's winner in the AL, and though he's the favorite, he has company. The 28-year-old is 11-3 with 200 strikeouts (second in MLB) in 25 starts, alongside a 2.32 ERA (second) and 0.87 WHIP (first). The last pitcher to win the award twice in a row was Jacob deGrom for the New York Mets in 2018 and 2019. Second on the board is Boston's Garrett Crochet, who is 14-5 (T-second) with 207 strikeouts (first) and a 2.38 ERA (fourth) in 26 starts.
National League Cy Young 2025
Paul Skenes: -800 (bet $10 to win $11.25 total)
Christopher Sanchez: +450 (bet $10 to win $55 total)
Freddy Peralta: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)
Matthew Boyd: +5000 (bet $10 to win $510 total)
What to know: Pittsburgh's Paul Skenes had been going back and forth on the board with Philadelphia's Zack Wheeler, but unfortunately, Wheeler is now out for the season due to injury. With that, Skenes became a huge favorite. He is 8-9 through 27 starts, but most of that has to do with a lack of offensive support. He leads MLB with a 2.07 ERA and ranks fourth in WHIP at 0.94, in addition to 181 strikeouts (fourth).
