Here is what to know about the CFP title oddsboard:
The Defending Champs: No. 1 OSU (11-0) remained in the top spot on the oddsboard after a 42-9 win over Rutgers in Week 13. It has now outscored its first 11 opponents 417-84. Ohio State has one win that was within seven points — a 14-7 victory over then-No. 1 Texas in Week 1. It has beat every other opponent on its schedule by at least 18 points, and has allowed 10 or more points just four times. So who can stop the Buckeyes from going undefeated in the regular season? All they have left is the big one against Michigan this upcoming weekend. The Wolverines are 9-2 on the year and on the brink of the CFP. Their two losses came at Oklahoma and at USC. If they can beat OSU, they've got a shot at being in the 12-team field.
Winners and Losers: There were no top-10 losses in Week 13, but a few teams did see their CFP hopes diminish significantly. No. 15 USC fell to No. 7 Oregon, and their title odds moved from +6000 to … nowhere to be found on the board. With that win over the Trojans, Oregon went from +1500 last week to +1000 this week. And despite a 17-6 win over No. 22 Missouri, No. 8 Oklahoma moved from +2000 last week to +4500 this week.
Hot Hoosiers: Indiana, just like the Buckeyes, is undefeated (11-0). The Hoosiers are outscoring opponents 476-128, and on the year, they are averaging 43.3 points per game, second in all college football. In other words, the Hoosiers' defense might not be as stout as Ohio State's, but Ohio State's offense hasn't quite reached the level of Indiana's. IU has one regular-season game left, at Purdue, after having a bye in Week 13. The undefeated regular season is entirely in play.
CFP Changes: There will be some changes heading into the next College Football Playoff when it comes to seeding, potentially making the path smoother for some of those premier programs. In late May, the CFP committee approved a proposal in which the four highest-ranked teams would earn the top four seeds and a first-round bye, removing the previous conference champion requirement. The top five ranked conference champions will still earn playoff spots. Last season, the top four seeds — Oregon, Georgia, Boise State and Arizona State — all received a bye and then lost in their quarterfinal matchups. Had the new format been in place, No. 1 Oregon, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Texas and No. 4 Penn State would have been the top four seeds and had byes.
