2025 MLB MVP Race, Odds: Can Cal Ragleigh Catch Aaron Judge?

One MLB MVP race is still a race, and in the other, the leader has lapped the competition.

Let's take a look at the odds for which two players will separate themselves from the rest by winning MVP at the end of the year, with odds from DraftKings Sportsbook as of Sept. 9.

American League MVP 2025

Aaron Judge: -300 (bet $10 to win $13.33 total)
Cal Raleigh: +200 (bet $10 to win $30 total)

What to know: Judge is not hitting the long ball like we are used to seeing, but that's about all he's not doing. As of Sept. 9, he's leading baseball in batting average (.321) and OPS (1.099). He's fifth in home runs (43) and ninth in RBIs (97). Raleigh is not slouching, though. He leads MLB in home runs (53), is tied for second in RBIs (113) and is fourth in OPS (.927).

National League MVP 2025

Shohei Ohtani: -10000 (bet $10 to win $10.10 total)
Kyle Schwarber: +2000 (bet $10 to win $210 total)
Juan Soto: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)

What to know: The NL MVP race is not as hotly contested, even though a week ago Kyle Schwarber had closed the gap some. On Sept. 2, Schwarber was at +500, while Ohtani was at -1200. A week later, however, things are not as close. Ohtani is third in MLB in home runs (48), second in OPS (1.002) and first in runs scored (128) by a wide margin. Presumably, his RBIs would be higher (90) if he didn't mostly bat leadoff, meaning he is often up to the plate with no runners in scoring position. Ohtani is looking to win back-to-back NL MVP awards for the first time since Albert Pujols did it in 2008 and 2009. He won the AL MVP in 2023 and NL MVP in 2024, making him the first player in MLB history to win MVP back-to-back in each league. As for Schwarber, he is second in MLB in home runs (49) and first in RBIs (120).
