The new Nintendo Switch – the Nintendo Switch 2 – will officially launch on June 5, with pre-orders in the U.S. beginning April 24.
After initially pausing pre-orders in the U.S. due to tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump, Nintendo announced that pre-orders are now available.
Although a price adjustment was expected, the Nintendo Switch 2 will still be $449.99, with the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle also remaining at the $499.99 price originally announced. The price of certain games and Switch accessories will be slightly higher due to current fluctuations in market prices.
The console is available to pre-order now from Walmart. You can also pre-order the Mario Kart World bundle from Walmart. Other retailers, including Amazon, GameStop and Best Buy are soon to follow.
Based on a teaser video released by Nintendo, the Switch 2 is getting a full upgrade when it is released. The screen is set to be bigger and brighter, with a longer built-in stand. There will also be a black controller option.
